In August my mom, dad, and I have to come up with a meal for dinner when we are at Mustang Island visting our family. My mom wants to make this soup recipe we got from http://allrecipes.com and I do not like it. I came up an idea for appetizers. I want to help in the cooking and have something I like as well. My family has Mexican food a lot since they live near Mexico. I was hoping for appetizer recipes that are not Mexican. The only recipes I have are a meatball one, artichoke dip, and, these really good Shish kebabs my dad makes using steak. If you can I need just a few more recipes.

THis is kinda messy, but really good My sister brought these to a christmas dinner.

About 2 packages of little smokies, 1 package of frozen meatballs, barbecue sauce & a jar of apricot preserves. dump it all into a crockpot and let it go. I think she cooked it on low all day long. They were a big hit at christmas dinner.

My boyfriend and I are having an open house kind of thing at our new place…I have my friends coming and my boyfriend has his friends coming…..however, my boyfriend is a doctor so all his friends are doctors as well….I want to make something that will impress them….considering I’m only 21…I dont have much experience in the kitchen…but please give me some easy appetizer recipes!!

here are a couple really good dips, for crackers or chips either one.
Olive Dip: crop up green olives small (takes time but worth it) mix with Philadelphia cream cheese, put a little olive juice in for taste.
Shrimp Dip: Get those cocktail shrimp you get in little jars, they are in red coctail sauce, mix them with Pliladelphia cream cheese……….
Simple but I made these for a party and It went over GREAT!!

I have alot of cherry tomatoes from my garden, and going to a party tommorrow, need appetizer recipes using them. Thanks

Stuff with a mixture of mayonnaise, crumbled bacon, and chopped green onions. Kind of like mini BLT bites.

It seems I am always having to make some sort of appetizer for parties. I’m tired of making the same things over and over. I’m looking for unique recipes for any kind of appetizer…..especially things that can be kept in a crock pot….but any recipe would be helpful.

Mini-Quiches

Ingredients:
8 oz Cottage cheese-small curd
1/4 c Sour cream
4 oz Shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1/2 c Bisquick
1/4 c Melted butter
3 Eggs

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix all ingredients with
Electric mixer. Grease mini-muffin tins or use Teflon ones.
Fill 3/4 full. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until brown.
Hints: Add onion, bacon, mushrooms,etc. May be frozen.
Reheat at 300 degrees or microwave for 3 minutes on high.
Note: These are great! Be sure to add cooked bacon and
Some diced onion. This recipe only makes about
1 1/2 Dozen so be sure to at least double!

I am having a huge party Thanksgiving weekend.. Would love it if you guys could share your quick and easy appetizer recipes. Was hoping just to have a table full of them but only have a few ideas.

Mushrooms Bourguignon – Yield 36 appetizers
1/4 c. butter
1 c. dry red wine
1 T. finely chopped green onion
1 t. minced garlic
1/2 t. dillweed
1/4 t. salt
pinch pepper
1 pound fresh mushrooms

Place butter in 3 quart glass dish, microwave on high until melted. Stir in wine, onion and seasonings. Place mushrooms, cap side down, in sauce and microwave covered on medium high for 8 – 10 minutes, or until heated through.

Spinach Bites – yield 6 – 8 dozen

1/4 c. chopped onion
1/2 c. butter
2 – 10 ounce packages frozen chopped spinach, thawed, with water pressed out
8 ounces shredded Monterey Jack cheese
8 ounces shredded Mozzarella cheese
8 ounces grated Parmesan cheese
3 ounces crumbled Blue cheese
1/4 t. hot sauce
1 package Phyllo dough

In skillet, sautee onion in butter until transparent. Add spinach and cook for 3 minutes. Remove from heat and add cheeses and hot sauce. Mix well, set aside to cool. Following directions on package of Phyllo dough, cut sheets into strips. Place 1 rounded teaspoonful of spinach mixture on each strip and fold over. Bake at 400 degrees for 15 – 20 minutes, or until golden brown.
